Miss Courtney

IMG_7254

Such a treat. My good, good friend from St. Louis came for a visit. It was so wonderful to see Courtney, I miss her a lot and always feel blessed and encouraged by my time with her. It was good to see you too Charlie (: Thanks for coming all the way up- it meant a lot to us!

Christmas, part 2

New Years day came and we went down to Bellevue to celebrate Christmas with my side of the family. We actually made it down there and weren't the last to arrive- a modern day Christmas miracle! It was a lot of fun, and though not the same as seeing everyone on Christmas, wonderful nonetheless.

Look at all these little people, geez, they're sweet, huh?

There was chaos, mixed with more chaos, and actually a little time to sit and drink wine and play cards... ended with a little more chaos.

The boys eating nuts, feeding bottles (notice Ross has two babies), and watching football. Often I looked around and saw no available hand for a baby, so, often people were given two. Love you guys, there's no one like family.

Christmas Day

My friend Sarah got me this wonderfully inspiring cookbook. Everything in it makes my mouth water. Well, I've been on search for the perfect cinnamon roll, and alas, I found it. Nate made a bunch of cinnamon rolls with the kids (50), and we delivered about half to our neighbors- hopefully this can be a tradition. We enjoyed the other half on Christmas morning, a perfect way to start Christmas. Thinking about the cinnamon rolls makes me want to make another batch.... (better yet, have Nate make another batch)

This was a special Christmas for me because I got to give Lucy my doll house that I had as a girl. My dad bought this doll house for me and started finishing it with paint, shingles, gutters and such. However, there is much work to be done and it will be a little mommy-daughter project- I'm really excited. I spent countless hours with this thing, and I hope she does the same.

After spending the morning at home we went to the farm to see more family. It was a gorgeous day!
