Art Museum

We made it to the museum this afternoon. It was a quick trip, but worth it nonetheless.

It's an Undergound thingy

(Chai Martini- yum!)

So, Nate and I had the opportunity to go to an elaborate 5 course meal at this "underground" restaurant. I don't really know how much I can say, because well, it's underground, but it's put on by this amazing chef and the location changes each month. Each course was paired with a beer and thoughtfully planned out. It was a really fun night out.

The soup was actually my favorite part of the meal. It was a squash/apple soup with cider foam and homemade bacon, the best bacon I've ever enjoyed.

Grant's farm

This morning we were off to Grant's Farm. Nate was debating (for about 2 seconds) if 11:30 was too early to consume their free beer- he decided it was not. This weather puts me in the best mood- it is so beautiful out, the slight cool breeze with the sun out is one of the best feelings around I think.

Produce Shopping

We try to make it to the market as much as we can for our produce but haven't been there since we got back. However, this morning we made it and it was great to get back in the culture of a market. We try to make it a part of our Saturday morning routine as much as we can.

In case you were wondering where you could pick up some peacock feathers to decorate with, you can get them here.

Of course, we had to get the homemade mini-donuts to end the day of shopping-mmm mmm.

Though she might not look it, Lucy was quite please when she discovered that, "They make bubblegum ice cream?!?" After sailing we made a stop at the local ice creamery.  It was so hot we could barely keep up with the melting ice cream- thank goodness for wipes, a mom's best friend  (thank goodness for espresso chip ice cream too, another one of mom's best friends)

Lucy, Will, Merry, Hans, Peter

Lucy and Merry. These two had so much fun together- we hope they will be best friends.

This is one of the houses on the farm- or might I say, the tree house on the farm. Our friends actually live up here with their three children. The house is stocked with a washer, tub, fireplace, two levels, playroom, and wrap around deck. Lucy actually had her first sleepover here a couple weeks ago. We always love to visit and look out over the trees while we enjoy a cup of tea and good conversation.

Raspberries were abundant and the kids had their fill

To be Simple

We spent the weekend at a farm and tasted a little piece of heaven. We visited our friends and pretty much just played on the farm all weekend. Lucy raced around with Hans and Merry while Will wrestled Peter. We just love the families on the farm and were struck by the joy found in simplicity.

Got milk Peter?

Road trip

"Goin on a road trip, road tr-ip" You probably are reading the quotes, well I am singing/rapping them in my head. Lucy and Dad were going back and forth singing this chorus while beat boxing. The sad thing is that Lucy is a way better beat boxer than me- oh well. We went on a road trip to visit our good friends Tyson, Tracy and Kai. The weekend consisted of some good chats, some movies, church, good grub, lemon drops (virgin for me please), and a trip to the museum of flight that Tyson works at, can't remember the official name. Anyway, we had good times like always! A side note- whoever loves me will bring me a lemon drop (not virgin), after the baby is born. I'd never had one before and it was amazing, even without the alcohol. My mouth is watering for one....

Green is Good

We went and walked around Greenlake this afternoon.  Trust me, there is a reason it's called GREENlake, green was everywhere and amazingly vibrant.  It was such a wonderful day for a walk and one of the few days we've actually seen the sun since we have been here.
