Poor Little Guy

So, I took son William in for what I thought was going to be a quick doctor appointment, quick prescription, and a quick fix for the cold he had developed. I was totally taken aback when the doctor said that we had to go straight to the hospital for one night maybe two. They thought Will had developed an illness called RSV (still don't know what it stands for). This sickness if very contagious and can be dangerous in babies. Basically, he was having a hard time breathing and had some gunk in him that we needed to deal with. Uncertain about exactly what was going on we rushed to the hospital and checked into a room. After a few tests they determined that he did not have RSV, but just a really bad cold that manifested itself in wierd ways. We ended up staying at the hospital for 24 hours, while Lucy was tossed to and fro, until we were sent home. We are still having to do the breathing treatments 3 times a day or so. It is situations like this that really teach me to lean on the Lord for peace and to trust him more. How good it is to know that this darling baby of mine is in the Lord's hands. Thanks for all your prayers-

My Little Zoologist

Playing for Lucy in the past has mostly been pulling everything out, trying to play with mommy's computer, and following me around asking to watch a woovie (movie, that is). Playing with her toys usually wasn't one of her top priorities or likes. We have had a breakthrough! For the last week she has constantly been setting up her "zoo" and rearranging her toys. Making the zoo basically consists of taking out every toy from her toy box, setting them up in the living room, moving them to the kitchen and then giving tours. I'm happy to see her toys put to use and love seeing her use her imagination. She charges Nate and me "two bucks" to go to the zoo and yes, she even takes credit. If anyone would like to come visit the zoo Lucy would be pleased to give you a tour- just don't forget your wallet!

I love Chocolate!

BRRR!

Current Temp: 8 degrees! These pictures were not taken in extreme temperatures, but after the first snow fall. Lucy loves the snow, and I love Lucy in the snow.

Ode to KK

Ode to KK

KK, O, KK, wanna play?
Watch a woovie with me all day?
You have to be sneaky to get out of our flat
Cause I'll chase you out the door to stay for a chat.
You make me crack up like a laughing Hyenna,
So I've deemed you KKTT, just like Brangelina.
You handle the chaos of toddlers with ease,
Even if floppy smells like velveeta cheese.
If I'm all wet from splashin' in a puddle
Nothing is nicer than a big KK cuddle
We like to have friends o'er- but there's so much to do!
KK to the rescue! She helps with one recipe, maybe two.
With fam'ly so far she's a much needed friend.
Time and much laughter she's eager to lend.
Without KK mommy would prob'ly go crazy-
And life would seem, oh, just a little more hazy.
What can I say? 'Cept KK's so fun!
A loyal companion for errands we run.
Thank you KK for your servant hand
How sounds a game of old Candyland?

Happy Valentine's Day
Love-

Lucy (with mommy's help)

Happy Birthday William!

I'm a chunky, slobbery, boogery, 1 year old!

Thomas Trains from Maz, thanks Maz!

Inside this bag, the bubble machine Lucy picked out for Will. I don't know who was more excited, Will or Lucy (or mommy for that matter).

Will was sceptical of his cake just like Lucy was. Didn't like the feel of it, and did not want to touch it.

Lucy picked out this truck all by herself for Will, needless to say, he loved it!

Though it was hard to be away from family on Will's first birthday, we are so grateful for our friends who can celebrate with us. We had party #1 with the Mauss family and Peter on Will's actual birthday. Party #2 will be with more kids and other friends and families from church. We miss you family and wish you could have been here to celebrate.

Say Cheese!

Will's great new smile that he is so proud of and shows me all day- I love it!

Potty Training or Patience Training?

Notice the bubbles from the bubble machine, the "potty necklace and bracelets", book, and candy - all bribes to get her to go potty on the potty!

So, the question, potty training or patience training? The answer... BOTH! It all started when little Lucy refused to put on her diaper and would only wear her Dora the Explorer underpants. We had great success getting rid of her pacifier so it seemed like a great idea. She successfully went potty on the potty the first couple times so I thought, "this will be a snap!" No sooner was I thinking this than I was cleaning up #2 from our living room carpet. Lucy was refusing to go on her toilet but obviously had to go. As a back-up plan she tried to go on her diaper that was sitting on the living room floor, and of course she missed- this is how the "accident" came to be. I've never been big on bribery, but I've resorted to every possible avenue of bribery I could think of. Actually, my hopes are up- she's having a good amount of success, and I haven't had to take out the oxy-clean since the big living room fiasco. Go Lucy Go!

Yes, maybe no..

No funny story, no joke, no deep thought, just a couple cute pics-
