Four eyes

My finds

I went to the free store at Covenant during my Mom's Morning out and found a couple of gems. I just love the scale above. I actually was able to clean it up after I took this picture and it looks great. I think it also weighs things up to 300 lbs. If I get motivated I might even paint this puppy a fun red or green.
This retro fan was just too great to pass by, especially when it's free! It's also one of my favorite decorating colors.. turquoise.
Some of you might know, if not, I have a key collection. Oversized keys, colored keys, old keys, unique keys. I found this and had to have them to join the collection (I actually paid for these).
Grabbed this on the way out. Some might say, "Kate Spade knock-off", I might say, "and..."

Bye Bye KK

Courtney, Kristen and I went out for dessert and wine to see Kristen off to B'ham. We had a decadent chocolate mousse, a peach tart, and pear cobbler. It was a good time, with good friends and good laughs. We love you KK!

The zoo

Today Kristen and I went to the great St. Louis zoo. I have to say, it was very hot! The kids didn't seem to mind. Mostly, Lucy only minded when we said it was time to leave. Departure has never been one of Lucy's gifts. It was a fun morning and maybe one of the last times we would go with the Mauss' :( Despite that saddening realization, we really enjoyed ourselves.

Hot air balloons

We went to Forest Park for the hot air balloon lighting. Lucy was skeptical of the big flames at first, but ended up being pretty amazed by them. The balloons were quite spectacular.

Botanical Gardens

This morning I went to the Botanical Gardens with my friend Ann Louise for the first time. The gardens were so peaceful and beautiful. I can't believe it was my first time there. After being there once I know I will return many times to enjoy the wonders it offers.

I'm not quite as dinky as they thought

The band aid on her forehead was on her arm to cover her shots at the doc. I have to say I was a proud mom. She hasn't had a shot for a long time, so I really don't think she remembered those gadgets functions. However, she sat and the table, got her two pricks and told the doc it didn't hurt at all. Then, seeing Lucy's bravery, Will sat and took his three shots without a flinch. Lucy showed him how to do it. As we were leaving she said, "God helped me".

At the doc I found out that Lucy's not quite as dinky as we thought. We always call Lucy "dinky" and Will "chunk-a-runk". When they start to develop some kind of complex we'll stop, but for now it works. Nate and I were convinced Lucy didn't grow this last year. She is still wearing some of the clothes from when she was 18 months, and she even has a skirt that is 6-12 months. I was very surprised to see her numbers at the doc. As for Will, he still well deserves the name chunk-a-runk.

Retreating

This past weekend we went retreating with our church. The kids played in the grass, in the sand, went on the merry-go-round, chased other tykes around, and got filthy dirty. Lucy went down a huge water slide with dad first and then by herself over and over again. It was a very relaxing time away as we were in the middle of no where with our family, friends, and God's wondrous creation.

I am enamored with this video. Lucy so intently and sincerely singing her song and Will jumping in with his interpretive dance. These kids are quite the duo.

Tower Grove Park

This morning the fam made a trip to Tower Grove Park. There's a little Farmer's market and a huge fountain/wading pool that the kids played in. It was a great morning with temps only in the 80's and some quality family time.
