Catechism

 

 

 

Lucy's growing up so much! She is asking so many good questions about Jesus and is challenging me (which is good) with her insights and observations- she's a thinker this one. Anyway, a part of this learning has been through her catechisms. She now is on question #24 and I hope to post a recording of some of them soon. Until then, here are some pics of the after dinner catechisms and celebrations when a new one is mastered. We're so happy to see how the Lord is shaping her, she is such a joy!

Our date

I hang with Sarah all the time and it's hardly documented. Because in essence the blog is my memory I need to start including our times together. We had a little late birthday date to the chocolate bar and had some good girl time. We bombed on two out of the three desserts, but the mousse was amazing! Sorry about the blur Sarah, you know the story that goes behind it, and like I said, I have to document! Love you!

Oh Boy!

The preparations to get to the airport were enormous. We had 7 stuffed bags, 2 car seats, 1 stroller, and 4 carry-ons (not to mention the box we shipped). I think we figured that we had 500 lbs of stuff-uck! We made it though and as I write this I am glad to say that we are totally unpacked and settled.

We had a dream plane ride, things are getting easier and easier. If you're at all interested you can check out this post to see what our first plane ride looked like, a lot of progress has been made.

It was like Christmas when we got home. It took about 2 minutes for the room to get into this state. I felt so excited to see them with their toys, in their room and was happy to see them so happy. Home has been good! (By the way, that blur in Will's hand is his airplane that he hasn't put down since we got home, thanks auntie Jo Jo)

Nate's little b'day celebration with family. His brother Chris, sister-in-law Nancy and brother Scott were there. Cousins Luke and new baby Kirk were there of course too. Will and Luke really hit it off, I wish we lived closer to them. Poor Will, he's usually surrounded by girls only, you could tell he was so happy to have a little boy to play with.

Baking with Maz

Maz baking Nate's birthday cake with Lu. This cake is the best cake and probably worthy of a recipe on the blog- if it's not a family secret. By the way Maz, can I have that recipe? I think I need to continue the tradition at our house birthdays.

Good Granny

Nate and I took Granny out on a date to the country club. We love Granny! If I am half as "with it" as she is when I am in my ninety's I will be ecstatic. We are so thankful that Lucy and Will get to know granny (GG, great granny to them), a rarity.

Will

Though she might not look it, Lucy was quite please when she discovered that, "They make bubblegum ice cream?!?" After sailing we made a stop at the local ice creamery.  It was so hot we could barely keep up with the melting ice cream- thank goodness for wipes, a mom's best friend  (thank goodness for espresso chip ice cream too, another one of mom's best friends)

Sailing

I grew up sailing with the folks and have been wanting to take the kids out on the boat. I just didn't think it was going to happen when last minute my parents suggested taking the boat out with the kids. It was perfect. The kids loved it and the weather/wind/everything was superb. We have had fun event after fun event this summer.

Fun with the cousins in the summer

A little fabulous date!

We got to go on a date! We went to this restaurant called Shamiana- it's gourmet Indian food and it was incredible. My sister used to work there like 10 years ago and she just told me that she has 5 or 6 recipes, so when we get back home we are going to throw a big Indian feast. If there are some major winners I'll post them on the blog. Anyway we had a nice romantic date and walked around Kirkland on the water- umm it was nice. Nate's going to be gone for his birthday on the 16th, so we had an early birthday celebration- 28 years under the belt.

Notice the ever expanding belly, strangers can finally feel pretty confident in asking, "when's the baby due?"

Bust a Move

After we went to the parade we went to the park and chased the kids from event to event. Lucy and Will had their first snow cones. You do not know how much sugar these kids have had in the last 3 days- they've been on a constant sugar high and sleep deprived, good combo eh?

Will "snowboarding" down a slight hill- had my camera in the wrong mode with this pic, but you get the idea.

Lucy didn't make it too high on the climbing wall, but Emma rocked it (yes, I know, I'm so clever).
