Medina Days

My family has gone to Medina days for 35 years and we thought the parade was going to be canceled because of the rain, but it cleared up and off we marched. Now, Medina days starts with a parade, then there are many festivities following. We scrambled this jester outfit together for Lucy. Actually, Nate wore this costume when he was 12 and he passed it down. We ended at Auntie Karolyns, played pickle ball, chased the dog and relaxed. I might note that my mama is well represented in this blog post. She has been underrepresented this summer in the blog world- but definitely not in our summer. We have had so many adventures together, mom I love you- you're one hot mama!

Fireman Art

We went to visit our friend Art at the fire station today. Will is totally obsessed with fire trucks so going to the fire station was about the best thing that ever could have happened to him. We got the full blown tour.

I was just about to ask to get a picture of Art with the kids in front of the truck when the big siren sounded and he was off in his ambulance to protect and help the people- go Art!  So, the picture of him leaving is about the best I can do.  Thanks Art for the tour, you made Will (and Lucy's) day.

Swimming with Dorothy

We went to swim at Maz's rowing pal's house- Dorothy.  She used to be a preschool teacher and you can tell.  She raced back and forth 18 time with Lucy and let her win each time- of course, Lucy loved it!  Dorothy is one strong women.  She has recovered from an aneurism and seems like she hasn't skipped a beat.  Though sometimes she can't quite find the words she is looking for, it never keeps her from talking and sharing her contagious enthusiasm.

Maz is a Rowing Machine

Maz is amazing.  She started rowing 8 years ago and has  more "clink" (maz's word for metals) then she knows what to do with.  We went to her regatta and cheered her on- good job Maz, you're my inspiration!

Fiona's Four

This summer we have learned what it would be like to have a neighbor with kids the same age as yours- delightful! Fiona lives next door to my mom and whenever we were as grandma's we would swap Lucy and Fiona back and forth. They had such a fun summer together. Lucy went to her first movie with Fiona and her three siblings. We've also taken Fiona to a splash park and had popsicle events. Anyway, Lucy has loved it and it was all topped off with Fiona's 4th birthday- this was quite the celebration. There were ponies, face painters, bunnies, chickens, frame decorating, pinatas, and games- no shortcuts here! The kids loved it (do I even need to say that?)

We had to force Will onto the pony.  We found that he often needs to be forced to do things- but than loves it.  He was holding back a smile the whole time he was on the pony.

Annabelle (AB)

\

Here ya go KK- lots more being sent to you, but here's a taste. What a little darling that AB- so sweet. Anyway, turned them to black and white for fun but still not sure that was a great idea. I do like them in B&W, but then again, the lighting was so great- check out below. At any rate, you can decide.
